Sleeping Beauty...

In today's life, we all need as much sleep as we can, however, the daily stress at work and at home for women today is greater than it used to be.
We women need our beauty sleep, because lets face the facts, no matter how much we hate to admit it, we get treated according to how we look. A blond for instance will get treated more kindly and more affectionately than a brunette, as Marilyn Monroe portrayed in "Gentlemen prefer Blondes".
However, the chemicals we find in sleeping pills or any medication for that matter is really bad for you, and it is so easy to overdose, so we have found the best natural way to help with your sleeping problems!

The best 1 that everybody recommends, would have to be Melatonin

Melatonin is a natural remedy for insomnia and has been studied for the treatment of cancer, immune disorders, cardiovascular diseases, depression, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), circadian rhythm sleep disorders and sexual dysfunction
Melatonin is a hormone secreted by the pineal gland in the brain. It helps regulate other hormones and maintains the body's circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm is an internal 24-hour “clock” that plays a critical role in when we fall asleep and when we wake up. When it is dark, your body produces more melatonin; when it is light, the production of melatonin drops. Being exposed to bright lights in the evening or too little light during the day can disrupt the body' s normal melatonin cycles. For example, jet lag, shift work, and poor vision can disrupt melatonin cycles.

If you have found another Natural way to get to sleep, please send through all your recommendations.

Marilyn Monroe - A fashion icon!

Marilyn Monroe was an American actress, singer, model and showgirl. This young bombshell was born to be a star. She wooed a president; appeared on the sleeve of the Beatles'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band; got itchy with Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon in Billy Wilder's classic romp, Some Like It Hot; and was featured on the cover of Hugh Hefner's very first issue of Playboy. (The magazine potentate has since secured the crypt next to hers.) Even though she made headlines as Marilyn Monroe, the notorious and curvaceous blonde bombshell, in reality she began her life as a brunette named Norma Jean Baker.

So many of our stars today have been inspired by Marilyn's look. She was after all, one in a million.

Is that you, Katy?

Katy Perry looked far from herself in the March issue of Interview Magazine as she graced the cover as well as a few pages in the popular publication.

The burlesque shoot had her looking as though she had just walked off the set of a 1950's movie in her Elizabeth Taylor inspired eye make up. I have to say this is my favorite of all the looks the pop sensation has tried, she looks absolutely stunning and seems to be holding it all together since her recent divorce. You go girl!

Here are the pictures from the gorgeous shoot

Harem Style Pants and How to Wear Them

Harem Style pants have hit the fashion world with a bit of a thud. At first some of us were a little skeptical with his fashion style, however we have come to love it!
Its a unique style that has come back to the fashion world, and we are going to embrace this trend with open arms.

The only problem is how to wear it. We thought about this for quite a while and have finally come a decision, its such a great style, but every clothing item can look amazing or can look like absolute rubbish, if styled in a certain way.

This style is suited best with high heels or boots, however normal sandals look great as well, try to avoid extremely baggy tops as it will clash with the baggy look of the pants.

I think we can all agree that this looks terrible!

This is a smart and classy trend, have fun with it and be comfortable in these pants.

Just because it's funny...

As I mentioned in my previous post Angelina Jolie's leg looked so out of place and weird it even detracted from her lovely gown.

Since the Oscars it has become an internet sensation. Some say she did it as a dare or for a laugh, others think she was simply showing off, whatever the explanation it was still funny and even funnier are the pictures that have surfaced...

Oscar disappointment...

I have been looking forward to the annual Academy Awards for well... a year and I was beyond disappointed with this years red carpet looks...

I was so distracted by Angelina's creepy crab leg sticking out the side of her dress that I didnt even get a good look at her gown and Emma Stone, who I usually adore, looked like an unopened Christmas present.

Put that crab stick leg away!

Ok, when can I open you? the suspense
is killing me!

So, I liked a total of 4 dresses this year and here they are

Cameron Diaz in a figure hugging Gucci dress

My favorite dress of the evening
Michelle Williams in Louis Voitton

Mila dazzles in Elie Saab

Rooney Mara made a perfect Oscars debut
in this Givenchy gown

There were a couple of near hits such as Natalie Portman in her polka dot dress, which was just a bit too cutesy for me and Gwyneth Paltrow in her white gown but the cape was a tad too over the top. Bridesmaids star, Kristen Wiig wore a lovely dress but the colour drained her and Sandra Bullock had the right idea but unfortunately the front of her gown was very unflattering

Gwyneth's cape ruined her lovely
tight fitted gown

Natalie Portman looked slightly
under dressed

The front of Sandra's dress made her
appear shapeless
Kristen simply wore the wrong
colour for her skin tone

Liquid Eyeliner

Applying liquid eyeliner is an art. It has to be precise, with no mistakes. However, having said that, I should state, that it really is rather easy to do!

  1. Clean your eyes to remove any excess oils and old make up.
  2. Put on your desired eye shadow if you want to wear any.
  3. Now for the liquid eyeliner. When applying liquid eyeliner, I normally pull the corner of my eye so that its straight, which makes it easier to slide the liquid eyeliner applicator across the top of my eye. If you tilt your head up and look down into the mirror, this also helps, as your eyes will close and you will be able to see what you doing.
  4. Apply Mascara, and its done!
